A discovery of Rajasthan by an optimized circuit: fast train, domestic flights, high comfort coach, jeep.
Meet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Visit by bus to Old Delhi. Walk through the old market and visit the great Jama Masjid Mosque, the largest mosque in India, facing the Red Fort. Visit the tomb of the Mughal emperor Humayun and the Qutab Minar, pass the India Gate and the Presidential Palace and Connaught Place in the new city.
Visit the Taj Mahal funerary mausoleum, the Red Fort.
On the way to Jaipur, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the former Mughal capital, with its ensemble of palaces and mosques set on a rocky and abandoned plateau, a World Heritage Site.
Visit Amber Fort in Jaipur, ride an elephant. Visit the majestic halls and temples with their marble and sandstone pillars, corridors and secret passages, with refined decoration. Descent by jeeps. Visit of Jaipur: the City Palace, city within a city in Rajput style: textile museum, collections of miniatures and weapons, courtyards with richly decorated doors. Discovery of the Jantar Mantar, observatory of the maharajas of Jaipur: immense astronomical instruments in sandstone painted in yellow and marble, then the astonishing : Hawa Mahal “Palace of the Winds.
Pokhara, an enchanting city with several beautiful lakes and its panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks. Free time for the rest of the day.
Visit of the city located in the middle of the desert, surrounded by walls: discovery of the Citadel with its 99 towers, its Jain temples, the Palace and the Fort of the upper city, its havelis and the new palace of the lower city. Excursion to Sam’s Sand Dune for a camel ride in the dunes and enjoy a sunset.
Jodhpur, the “Blue City”, the second largest city in Rajasthan, once the capital of Marwar, spread around the impressive Mehrangarh Fort. Departure for the visit of the Fort, transformed into a museum with its collections of weapons, miniatures and other princely objects. Return to Jodhpur and the clock district of the old city with the fruit, vegetable and spice bazaar and its small town crafts.
Day 09 : Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur
Drive to Ranakpur with its Jain temples and the temple of Adinath.
Day 10 : Udaipur
Udaipur, city surrounded by five lakes, founded in 1537, a real oasis of greenery in the middle of the arid lands of Rajasthan, with its marble palaces and gardens, its typical houses and the Lake Palace, on an island in Lake Pichola, the City Palace and its marble rooms.
Day 11 : Udaipur – Delhi by air
Boat trip on Lake Pichola. Departure to Delhi by air.
Day 12: Delhi – Europe
Transfer to the airport for formalities for the return flight to Europe.
