YOUR E-VISA FOR INDIA
Mathew Voyages Pvt Ltd offers guidance and assistance to help you navigate the electronic visa process for entering India: the e-visa.
The Indian government has introduced an e-visa, allowing travelers to obtain an Indian visa online in a relatively simple manner. The Indian Embassy issues the e-Tourist visa for 60 consecutive days with double entry. This means that you can enter India twice during the validity of your e-visa.
You can begin your application on the official e-visa website:
To obtain a visa on arrival, you must fill in an e-visa application form online at least 10 days before your trip. You will need to scan a recent color passport photo in JPG format, respecting the recommended file size. The application may be refused by the Indian authorities if the documents uploaded are not legible or do not comply with the requirements.
Requirements for applying for an e-visa:
- Your passport must have been issued by an eligible country (France, Belgium, Switzerland, other countries of the European community, UK, USA, Australia, etc.). Please contact us for the exact list of countries if your case is particular.
- Your passport must be valid for another 6 months after your arrival.
- Your passport must have three blank pages, two of which must be facing each other.
- You must have printed out your e-visa to present on arrival.
- You must be able to prove that you are going to leave the country (return flight ticket, etc.).
- You will need to provide your hotel reservation or proof of stay.
- If it is a family or friendly visit, you will need to provide the name and address of the person(s) you are visiting.
- Your tourist e-visa is only valid for entry via the following 25 airports: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bangalore, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam or via the 3 ports of Cochin, Goa, and Mangalore. (It is not valid for overland entry, but overland exit is allowed with it.)
- It is only possible to apply for two e-visas per year. Indian visas cannot be extended. If you wish to stay in India beyond the duration of your visa, you can exit to a border country, for example, Nepal, apply for a new visa there, and then return to India on the new visa.
- Your tourist e-visa does not give you access to certain protected areas (Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland).
- Please note: The validity of a visa starts from the date it is issued by the Indian Embassy and not from the date of your departure.
- We can also assist with your visa application for Nepal, Bhutan, or Sri Lanka. Please contact us for more information.
